I live on Woodlands Crescent, a lovely area of grass and trees, it therefore attracts many dog walkers. The issue is I can't let my child play on the grass because more and more dog walkers (and in some cases) residents are using the Crescent as a public dog toilet! I witness this on a daily basis.
Please please pick up the Dog Poo!!

This has been a big problem in Poundbury in the past We do have a large number of dog owners on Poundbury, but also I do see people come in cars from other areas just to walk the dog in Poundbury I have even seen them just pull up and let the dog out into the park to do its business while they just sit in the car

we don't walk our dog over there, but we do have a dog and I carry at least 4 nappy sacks with me for his business. There are lots of cars who park up and people get their dogs out to walk over here! We see many dogs without leads just wandering over by the children's play area, how can their owners see if they've messed?

Great Field It was my pleasure to stay close to the Great Field this summer and I brought my dog with me. Having lived in central London for many years I am used to cleaning up after him. I was saddened that such habits have not spread as far as far as Poundbury. As a dog owner the field was an embarrassment. But this is understandable since there is little encouragement or discouragement to foul play. The single dog bin was not emptied for 10 days. There are few penalty signs (no enforcement) and more importantly there is no positive direction. Space is not an issue. Set some aside for dogs and keep them away from kids.

I have a really good idea. Why don't we employ a webmaster who promotes dog crap. Lets put up ads for dog nutsters top and bottom of the relevant forum page. Let's pay the webmaster for advertising this on Google! Even better give crappers a nice in map! Is this a forum or a very unsociable way of funding a website?

;DLet me put this into plain English. A sport's field is designed for sports. This includes children. It does not include dogs. As a dog owner I know that there is enough space around to exercise a dog without contaminating the playing field. Keep dogs off. If they do stray and mess .. pick it up and dispose of it.
It is the responsibility of the local council to ensure that this is advertised, signed, enforced and promoted (proper areas and disposal facilities provided to encourage proper use).
This is why taxes are paid. If local government is ignorant, blind to reality and irresponsible why should citizens take any action?
Woof Woof

Sorry last comments were perhaps a little snide. But yes somebody needs to be employed as the full time webmaster. As far as I can tell the local community council is controlled by minority groups more interested in "Not in My Back Yard".
