Would you like to have a Wind Turbine built near Poundbury?
Do you think Poundbury should be more energy efficient, and have its own Wind Turbine to produce electricity for the whole community? I would guess anywhere along the Bridport Road to the west of Poundbury would be an ideal site.

We already buy all of the electricity we use at home from Ecotricity in order to support further construction of sources of sustainable power, so will not be joining the NIMBYs on this one! I was interested to hear this morning that at last the RSPB are giving their (our- as we are members of RSPB) support to wind generators as long as they are not put in areas where wildlife would be put at risk, and there is so much farmland which could be put to this use without taking up much space. Westwards along the Bridport road sounds like a real possibility - we certainly get plenty of wind in Poundbury! What a shame to waste it.

I think that we should be making use of all the different natural sustainable resources to which we have access, which includes wave power in Dorset as we are lucky to have such a wonderful coastline. Unless we act quickly we will lose our beautiful English countryside to climate change, not to mention the wider effects on habitats across the world, and so the change to a few lovely views out to sea, or across open farmland is surely a small price to pay.
