What area around Dorchester do you think can be used for future development? In the next twenty to fifity years thousands of new houses are going to be needed around this area, so place your vote as to where you think they should go ;D

Areas One, Five and maybe Two would be ok for housing in my opinion.
Number 3 would be a definite NO! Too close to Maiden Castle.
It would have been good if the Town Council carried out a survey such as this to get the feedback of Dorchester Residents.

Don't the Council own some of the fields in Area 1? as thats where the County Show is held. Maybe an idea of developing that area is already on the drawing board, and thats why the council have been buying up that area

Of course a lot of people would like it if none of the above pieces of land were built on, but people need homes and when you look at the bigger picture these things must happen.

Yeah, that seems to be how things work ;D If any town wants a new bypass, they must accept having a few thousand houses built as part of the deal wonder who does own the land then ;D Does Weymouth realize that with their Relief Road getting the go ahead, they are most likely gonna be forced to accept some housing developments along the route
