Does anyone who has BT Vision in Poundbury get Sky Sports through BT Vision ? According to the BT website checker, we don't get a freeview signal here (and so can't get the sky sports option) but I have freeview reception on my TV. Any advice appreciated, although I'd rather not get Sky Sports from Sky unless avoidable.

Hi
I have BT Vision which requires Freeview to recieve all channels. When I signed up, BT advised that i would not be able to get Sky sports along with quite a few other channels. When I scanned for available Channels, Sky sports 1 and 2 are listed on the TV guide. If I try and select these channels it gives me the expected encrypted channel message. I am planning to pay the extra to recieve these channels in the near future. As far as i am concerned if the scan I have carried out picks up the channels then i should be able to view them once the encryption is disabled. Other channels BT advised i would not get seem to be working fine. I also get ESPN without a problem. BT have since advised that if the channels are successfuly displayed on the guide after scanning then they should be viewable.
Hope this helps. Sorry i cant actually give you a full proof answer but I'm pretty confident i will be able to view them once i pay the monthly subscription advised by BT to view the sky sports channels. By the way, i have my own loft ariel with booster which gives me a much improved signal to my TV and the rest of the house. The signal provided through the Telstar communal Ariel was rubbish and just was not strong enough to run a signal to other rooms.

Just thought I would update this. I have got BT Vision with Sky Sports. All was amazingly simple to set up, especially since the BT website told me that it wouldn't work.
