Hello,
I see that Telstar has been replaced by T2 Digital.
Please can you let me know when Sky + will be available in the older part of Poundbury ... I have lived here for 2 years and am extremely disappointed that in this "modern development" we still cannot get SKY PLUS.
Please can you let me know when the network will be upgraded to facilitate this basic service that is available to anyone else in the UK living outside of POUNDBURY.
I have a double cable socket in my flat and have been told by the Sky engineer that there needs to be a double feed from the satellite dish.
So if you have an update on when this will be available I will be very grateful
Regards Cat

The older part of Poundbury was built before Digital TV and Sky Plus was even considered, hence the single cable feed into every home. In addition to this the limited experience of running underground cables in such a large complex site meant that today it is very difficult to pull through new cables. We can in most cases fit Sky plus into the older homes using the single cable but to do so we have to use a Stacker device. This device 'stacks' one set of frequencies above the other on a single cable and de-stacks it at the other end. The upshot to yourself is that the Stacker makes a single cable perform as if it were 2 cables, thereby enabling Sky plus. The supply and installation of a Stacker in the Manco 1 area of Poundbury is approx £160 of which Manco pays at least half. Please let me know where you live and I will get the engineer to look and see.

What are the options in MANCO2? I have a lovely HD TV, although no HD tuner, reticent to Purchase until I know for sure it will work. The second option is paying the Murdoch clan some money, but once again, having read several reports, I need assurances as to what will work!
Can anyone help and advise?!

Hi, In answer to Scottr's message of 2nd April. Apologies but I only came back from a break this morning. There is currently still a lot of tweaking going on the Rowridge Transmitter, this will hopefully come to a head on 18th April when some of the frequencies change and the power levels are turned up. Poundbury will have to wait a day or two after this occurence though because we have to re-programme some of the system filters before it will work to full effect. After this, hopefully all will work properly, please let me know if it doesnt. Tony Macinnes, Technical Manager T2 Digital.

That still doesn't answer the sky problem!
If I decided to go Sky (An avid F1 fan and annoyed it is on Sky)(Not your problem)
Will be be able to get sky + properly. Still seen comments that it doesn't. No way I want to get tied into a contract if it doesn't work properly!

Scottr, Sky plus is available for lots of Poundbury residents. On the older parts of the site we use a Stacker device. This stacks frequencies one lot on top of the other, the practical upshot for you is that it makes a single cable perform as 2 cables. Your Manco, depending on where on Poundbury you are will pay a portion of the Stacker charge. You need to call me at our office for more details of this, the number to ring is 01935 434353 as for myself. On the newer parts of Poundbury Stackers are not needed as 2 cables are standard.
