Hi, In response to scottr's message. I have been away for several days due to having surgery so only came back this morning. We have been aware of reception issues on Poundbury recently especially in some areas which includes Headland Warren. The problems in the main have been caused by signal levels being intermittently too high off the Transmitter, we are trying to compensate for this but I expect that some issues will remain until after the Transmitter power up on 18th April. The 2 to 3 days following the 18th April we will be re-programming the system filters across the whole of Poundbury which will stabilise the signal levels and thereafter provide good quality reception. Please contact me at our office if you need to do this. Tony Macinnes, Technical Manager, T2 Digital.

I would like to make everyone that is fed from the Satellite Dish in Dartmeet Court aware (Westcott Street, Stannon Street, Great Cranford Street and lower half of Peverel Avenue West) that there is currently poor satellite reception due to a tree growing in front of the dish. Reception is more sporadic when it is windy, as the tree blows backwards and forwards causing up and down breakup. There were several options to cure this problem, though the one that Manco 3 have opted for is to upgrade the Headend in Oakery Court to Fibre Optic based, then run a link Fibre Optic cable from there to Dartmeet. The dish will then be removed from Dartmeet Court. This work will be carried out on Wednesday and Thursday (13th and 14th June), after which the problem will be rectified. I must therefore ask affected residents to be patient prior to this work being carried out. Tony Macinnes, Technical Sales Manager, T2 Digital Ltd

We are very aware of a major problem causing disruption to reception at Poundbury at the moment, I have copied an article which describes what is happening:
High pressure affecting Freeview reception
Service update: 12 October 2010 We’re aware that unusually high atmospheric pressure occurring at present is causing reception problems across parts of the UK. Once the area of high pressure has moved on, your reception should return to normal. Under normal circumstances, the signals from a television transmitter can only be received by those homes that have a direct line-of-sight to the transmitter. The part of the signal from the transmitter that is directed upwards simply escapes into space and is lost. However, when there is high atmospheric pressure, the sun heats up the ground and the warm air gets trapped underneath the colder air above it. This creates a layer that is, in effect, a mirror for the television signals. This means that signals that you wouldn't normally receive can effect your television reception. This can particularly affect homes on the coast who may receive interference from continental broadcasts. Viewers could experience pixilation, garbled sound and blank screens. This occurrence should be significantly reduced with digital switchover as the digital television signal incorporates the ability to ignore reflected digital signals. However, for those that experience prolonged disruption, the other options available are satellite TV providers such as freesat and Freesat from Sky.
We know that this is the cause as we were at Poundbury this afternoon and witnessed this occuring on a Spectrum Analyser Meter. The same problem is also affecting other locations we look after at Charlton Downe, Puddletown, Weymouth and Portland.
Unfortunately there is no instant cure for this problem though we will be looking to manufacturers for possible solutions in the coming days. I have been answering the phone from Poundbury and other location residents regarding this all day so please do not call in unless the problem is something different. This will not affect Satellite as is is ground based transmitters causing the problem.

The following link illustrates exactly what is happening at Poundbury right now: www.bbc.co.uk/reception/digitaltv/weather.shtmlCurrent Atmospheric Pressure is 1026 over North East France and Belgium, conditions are currently perfect for reception problems at Poundbury. Hopefully the High Pressure will move on soon and the problem will cease. Tony Macinnes, Technical Manager, T2 Digital.

Hi
We have been having problems with Sky signal breaking up over the last few days. Today it has got progressively worse. At this time, we can watch only some, mostly never watched channels (BBC1 plus a number of random ones - very little logic eg can get Sky Arts 2 but not Sky Arts 1).
Located in Moraston Street.
The error message is 25. We have tried all the ususl Sky recommended remedies, but it seems that the problem is with the feed from the dish.
Please look into asap. Wife gets very grumpy without her telly!
thanks very much.

Been very bad freeview reception in Trematon street for a couple of weeks now, Freesat is fine. I do wonder if its related to the new flats that have just been occupied and are now eating the signal. Whatever the cause it would be nice if it was fixed. Thank you.
