We have recently called out to a number of residents after reports of intermittent break-up on the Freeview.
Addresses concerned have been in Trematon St, Challacombe House, Peveral Ave East and West, Chetcombe Street and Shapley Court.
These are fed from two completely independent systems, so we are confident it isn’t a system failure.
Friday we called to both Headend Stations and replaced the TV aerials and installed filters to try and block this intermittent interference, we did notice on the spectrum analyser a very strong signal coming in on the lower band (S), and thought we had successfully filtered this out at the aerial stage!
However, it is still infiltrating the system and at the moment we don’t know what it is and where it is coming from, so we need to investigate further.
As of the 19th of November we will be disconnecting the DAB and FM aerials for 2- 3 days on these two systems to see whether it is infiltrating the system via these.
I’d therefore like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and hopefully get full service back up and running very shortly.
If we fail to locate and cure the problem, we will have no alternative but to ask “Ofcom” to send a team out to try and locate the interference and advise you accordingly.
